Back to work today after what feels like a really long break. Popped on Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant and out into 1 Degree C. Still damp from yesterday's rain and a cloudy sky.
Everyone was out and about this morning. Mr Early on his bike, David the retired Paperboy (he told me yesterday he's 74 but he looks no older than 60), the girl runner with the short white blonde hair, a fox and the police car. A full set! It felt as though I had the winning hand at poker.
The sea was wonderful this morning. A decent south west wind whips the water up and creates such an amazing sound. I headed along the coastal road, then inward towards the big hill. I've now got a footpod to wear with my Polar HRM and it tells me how fast I'm going and how far. It's rather odd walking along with one trainer flashing a green light.
My head was full of work related thoughts and what needs to be done when I get back into the office. It seems ages ago since I left there back on 23rd December. I shall be missing my wonderful lie ins and the daily joint decision of what to do and how we were going to spend the day. Now it's back to the usual grind. Perhaps it will seem better once we've all got the first day back out of the way. Hope so.
