Day 78 - 23 December 2010

Oh my goodness.....just how cold was it out there this morning? It's minus 5, but with the fierce bitter 28 mph wind, it feels like minus 11.

I know this has nothing to compare with those of you up north, but for us Southern Jessies....it's COLD!

I headed straight towards the beach and had to do a double take. I couldn't quite work out why the sky was brighter in the west this morning. It was most odd. It was almost as bright as dawn. But it was the almost full moon, which was SO bright this morning that it lit up everything in the western sky. I could even make out a lone walker on the beach. Very odd. And it goes to show just how much we're programmed to expect sunrise in the east and sunset in the dawn....anything different and it's disconcerting...

None of my usual early morning "team" were around this morning, so it was a lonely walk for me. At least I could keep a fast pace going, as the last of the remnants of snow have finally gone.

It's my last day at work today - I finish at lunchtime. However, rather than feeling great about it, I spent the walk worrying about the fact that I haven't yet wrapped a single present, I haven't yet bought any of the Christmas food items that are on our list. Arghhhh. Tick tock. Tick tock.
