I was really hoping for a clear sky so that I could see the beginning of the lunar eclipse, but we've got a light fog/mist here in Bournemouth, so I could spot nothing in the sky at all this morning. Gutted. There's a chance it could clear up enough by 7.30 and I'll pop out again then if I have time before going to work as I think the full eclipse is 07:44.
I was pleased to see a temperature of 0 Deg C and there's only a tiny bit of ice/snow about on some of the pavements. So it was the fastest I was able to walk this morning for some time - and wearing my trainers, rather than my heavy hiking boots. I'm sure my knees appreciated it.
Mr Early was nowhere to be seen - and no police car either. Perhaps they're taking an early Christmas break. There were however, lots of foxes around this morning - I saw 3. A record.
As I was nearing home, with the sea breaking loudly onto the beach, a tiny robin flew down in front of me and in its beak was a worm bigger than he was. Believe me when I say how relieved I was that he didn't drop it when he flew off again. I hate worms.
Have a wonderful Winter Solstice everyone. No hanging around large upright stones, OK?
