Day 58 - 01 December 2010

I'm back. I have been walking during the 17 days I've been officially "away" from this daily post, but not always for a full hour and not always at 5am. But my chest infection, hip and knee injuries are now behind me. So on with the 3 layers of clothing and The Sound of Mitchell & Webb to keep me company, although my head was focusing on work - I've had six days off and I'm back to the office today.

It really is bitterly cold out there. It's -1 but with a wind chill that makes it feel as though its -3. A light flurry of flakes are falling, but the ground just looks as though there's been a really heavy frost. Bournemouth is always fortunate during bad weather spells. We're protected by the Isle of Wight, giving us a mini-climate. Not to good for those who bought sledges though.

It was even too cold for the police car. But I did wave to Mr Early, who is always out on his bike, no matter what the weather is doing. And a brave (young slip of a thing) runner, who was out there in her T-shirt and three quarter tights. Crikey - there's motivation.

The sky was cloudy and it wasn't pleasant walking towards the bitterly cold wind. Much fewer people about when its this cold. Even the sea was quiet, with hardly a wave to be seen.

It's great to be back!
