It was 10 degrees outside, although the wind does feel a bit chillier than that...with a WSW wind of 18mph with gusts of 31mph.
(and I've just checked the weather for VERWOOD which is the same....you know who you are who asked me to do this!!).
The sea was wonderful - the waves were breaking so far out that I couldn't see where they started as it was still obviously dark. But so much 'messy surf' on the beach. I'm looking forward to the drive to work, when its daylight so I can see a bit more.
As the wind was WSW, I headed inland so that I could have the wind pushing me. That was a huge help, as I then had chance to dodge all the wheelie bins that were lying in the road (!) and the w.o.r.m.s. - there was a particularly HUGE one that I very narrowly missed treading on. It must be my lucky day today.
But the only problem with having the wind pushing me, is that my HRM was barely registering, as I wasn't having to use that much energy. So my whole walk today was in fact, a slow run. I think this is the problem I'm going to face now that I've been walking for so long. I try and go faster/further in the given hour that I have, but to be honest, my HRM recently has been saying that I've only been 'in the zone' for 2 minutes at the most. I started walking in the first place to help lose weight and avoid the dreaded plateau. So I will be walk/running from now on. Running doesn't allow me to take in the various sights that I enjoy, so I'm happy with this mix.
I saw Mr Early out on his bike (brave soul) who shouted out a cheery "Hello!" to me as he passed. I think he loves Fridays almost as much as I do
A busy weekend ahead, with FRANFORD & OH over for dinner tonight and then our son Rich and his girlfriend Vikki over tomorrow and staying the weekend to celebrate Boxing Day
Have a great Friday everyone. Watch out for those wheelie bins.
