Those who remember watching The Fast Show will know what I was listening to this morning. And it definitely was scorchio out there....the first time I've been able to do the walk without wearing a body warmer since November. Amazing - without being hampered with a scarf, gloves and body warmer, it almost felt like being a naturist
This morning was 2 degrees with scarcely any wind at all....and is the lull before tomorrow's storm arrives. My forecast app says that tomorrow and Saturday, there will be winds of 36 mph with gusts of between 46mph and 56mph. That should be interesting. Definitely a day to watch the sea.
The sky was beautiful this morning, with all the stars doing their very best. Saturn over to the east was as stunning as ever. In fact, it was so bright that it produced a shimmer across the sea. I had to stop momentarily to take it in.
The council have taken the old litter bins away and replaced them with brand new space age looking bins...they're called "Big Belly Solar Compactors". The top of the bin is in fact, a solar panel that energises 'hammers' that push the litter down into the bottom of the bin, thus leaving more room in between being emptied. And because you don't see the litter, it means it can't be blown away on windy days (which was really annoying with the old style bins) and better still...you get lights that blink on these new ones. Green lights during 'normal' use and red blinking lights when it needs emptying. Does anyone else have these?
If you're in the south, make the most of today's quiet weather everyone. Tomorrow, we batten down the hatches.
