Sunday. Day 2.
Feeling a little robbed of my lie in, I dutifully got out of bed at 5am and stepped outside for day two. I still felt tired, but hey...I'm a Stupid O'Clock Walker..how else should I be feeling?
There were quite a few runners out - even at this unearthly hour. I felt that perhaps I should join them, but I had made up my mind to keep my running to the evenings, otherwise my knees would divorce me.
I made my mind up today to get some speed going, and although I wasn't sure of my exact speed, my calculations showed an average of 3.5kph. OK, but not really fast enough.
This morning I tried a different route to yesterday, to see how interesting that was. It took me away from the coastal path and I reckoned this "inland route" would be the preferred choice for bad weather mornings.
I also felt guilty not taking our dog, Foggy (a West Highland Terrier) with me - but he's 10 years old and not so good at a fast pace any more. It just wouldn't be fair.
My hour seemed to go really quickly this morning and I felt I could get really hooked on the exercise 'high' by the time I got back home again.
I could get used to this!
