As an adult, I have made it my prime directive to move as near to the sea as possible - ideally, in a house or apartment overlooking the sea....that's my goal.
Currently, I am living just a few short steps from the beach in Southbourne, which is near Bournemouth on the South Coast of England. It's a beautiful sandy beach, with coastguard stations, cafes and restaurants. In the summer, it's busy with holiday makers and those lucky enough to live within easy commuting distance. The locals around here prefer to get out really early in the day, to beat the holiday makers.
In the evenings, we will often take our dinner and a disposable BBQ down to the beach and enjoy watching the sun sets.
It's the stuff of dreams.
Since losing 4 stone, I have discovered a love of running and walking. The gym isn't quite so scenic, but it has it's use! And since I've taken up walking, I have also discovered a love of the natural world. The seasons, the daily weather, how early the birds start singing, the planets and the moon (that I now view through my iPhone so that I can easily identify certain stars) and well...everything really.
So I hope you enjoy reading a few entries. I've certainly enjoyed walking them at stupid o'clock.
This final photo is my Longest Road - taken at 05:10am on Friday, February 18.
(It really does go on forever!)
