Wednesday.
Brisk walking for 60 minutes.
It was ever so cold this morning whilst getting ready, so I made sure I had all my layers on. 2 degrees with a bitter north east wind at 12mph.
With another episode of Gervais, Merchant and Pilkington in my ears I set off. The wind was harsh enough for me to choose an inland route to get some protection. My eyes were streaming and I always have to take at least two sheets of kitchen roll for my eyes and nose when its particularly cold.
The sea was so quiet again (I guess because the wind was coming mainly from the north) that it looked like a mill pond with just tiny ripples. Walking past all the Big Belly Solar Compactor Bins I was concerned to see that they're all blinking orange. Nooooo! Where's the council to come and empty them? They all appeared to be uncomfortable. I need to get out more...
Mr Early was early again....I'm only seeing him on the way back these days. Luckily Mr Rude Navy decided to stay home. I don't miss him.
As we head towards spring and lighter mornings (they can't be far away now), I'm beginning to see more and more people out at stupid o'clock. Some are just walking, I'm seeing a few runners now - but then with the London Marathon coming up, I see this happening at this time of year every year. Also lots more cyclists. I have this image of having to push away crowds of people at 5am every morning when it gets really warm and light. I hope not!!
Heading back home, I caught up with my husband (known as Mr S on my weightloss board) who was finishing his 10 mile run. We ran together for the last mile or so home, which was lovely.
The cloud cover denied me the stars, the moon and seeing a decent dawn breaking, but I was glad to get back into a warm home and a hot shower.
My legs are beginning to complain though...but there's a whole new day tomorrow for another one.
