Day 140 - 16 March 2011

Wednesday
Brisk Walking for 60 minutes

Problems with the internet this morning, so the blog is later than usual to publish.

It was still mild out, with 5 degrees C a 12mph NNE wind with gusts of 18mph.  These gusts were almost unnoticeable whilst heading out west, but they were eye wateringly irritating on the way back!

Listening to a selection of my best iPod music (instead of my usual audio books and podcasts), I was really enjoying looking at just how beautiful my surroundings are.  The sea was as amazing as usual.  It's like having an artist's canvas with a new painting each and every minute of the day.  And I've really begun to notice the subtle changes with the seasons coming and going.  We miss so much in the hub bub of daily living, don't we? Everyone should have the chance to stop every few hours and just take it all in.  To breathe deeply and think about all the positive things going on in your life.  Some days its harder to think of many!  But dig deep and you'll find them.  I walked down onto the promenade this morning, as the sea was just too amazing to ignore.

The sea appeared to be really calm far out, but they were crashing onto the beach with a very satisfying noise.  There's still a lot of sand washed up onto the promenade with all the recent bad weather.  I think the council is waiting until we're deep into spring before they clear it up.  They've been trying to load it all back onto the beach throughout the winter, but a few days later, its back on the promenade again.

There were a few cyclists making their way to Bournemouth.  They come up behind you at such a speed and completely silent too.  I had to keep looking behind me if I didn't want to get mown down.  One rang his bell but I think a siren would be more practical!  (I thought it was Mr Early taking a different route, but sadly it wasn't).

I turned around and headed back home (into the wind) studying the sky for the first signs of daybreak.  Its really cloudy this morning, so not much hope of seeing much.

I had forgotten how steep the cliff path up to road level is - I need to do this more often, I think.  Although my  calfs would disagree.

I caught the sun setting last night - so as this morning didn't render any decent photos take a look at yesterday.  This was captured at 6.15pm.  There were many neighbours rushing outside to capture this sunset - it looked as though the sun was being poured into the sea.  Stunning.
