60 minutes brisk walk
Rain. Ugh. How is that possible after two stunningly sunny and warm days? I wasn't prepared for so much rain...so I'm now sitting here typing this and I'm SOAKED!!
My lovely husband is running 7 laps of 2.85 miles, which is his 20 mile training session and so my route this morning was taking in his route to at least catch him once or twice.
In my iPod this morning is my radio app, so that I could catch up with Chris Moyles' attempt at breaking the longest radio show ever - he's going for 52 hours non-stop and I've also been watching it on BBC's Red Button. Amazing stuff.
But back to my rainy walk. Mr Alsatian Man was out early and as I hadn't seen him for a while, his dog that runs alongside him WITHOUT A LEAD is a little bit scary at first. They headed off towards a very wet beach.
My new route wouldn't take in Mr Early's usual route, but I also saw my police car (they're still not waving), a silent, but blue light ambulance and a fox. I could easily start playing "5am Random Bingo". How many things to spot for a full house I wonder?
The problem with rainy walks is that I have to spend most of my time studying the pavement, watching out for worms. **shudder** I can really see a much lighter sky now as I'm walking. Due to the rain, I couldn't see any stars, moon or even a decent daybreak...just a lighter sky.
I had a quick chat with our 74 year old paper boy, Dave who was telling me that he had already called the men in the white coats for my husband - he had already watched Ian run two laps at that time!
I was making sure that I didn't walk too briskly, as I'm attempting 22 miles tomorrow and will be getting up at about 3.30am so that it's not eating too much into my Saturday. I've seen the weather forecast and it's going to be minus 2 at that time. I shall remember to take my gloves as two weeks ago, I was almost crying with the cold.
Well - it's Friday. Hurray
