3 mile run, 2 mile power walk
After completing my hour of beach running intervals last night, my legs felt tired this morning and for a moment or two, I was tempted to go back to sleep for another hour. But experience has taught me that I actually feel better for getting up and getting out. Plus the fact that today's walk is a milestone number, so it had to be done.
I took my scarf, as I thought it was going to be cold, and walking out towards the east and the north, it was. The temperature was 7 deg C with 3mph NNE wind and 7mph gusts. No biggy, but it did feel chilly. However, as I then headed south, the scarf had to be taken off and tied around my middle and I was also near to removing my fleece after I had started running - wayyyy to much clothing!
The weather was quiet so the sea was loud again this morning. I couldn't see any stars as like yesterday, it was misty and cloudy. But I could see the orange quarter-moon again this morning.
I came across a cat who resolutely stood in my path until the very last minute - and then felt brave enough for me to take its picture. It was a pretty little thing.
Mr Early was early again - which has an effect of making me feel as though I'm really late. But he was the only soul around. Mr Rude Navy, Mr Alsatian - or even Dave was out this morning. I haven't seen my friendly police car in weeks...I reckon they've changed their route, which is rather a shame. Now I'll never know whether they'll ever wave now.
I stopped to quickly check how my HRM was doing, only to find that it had stopped and was showing "Please check your transmitter strap". Darn. I had soaked the strap in cold water before putting it on, so I have no idea why it had stopped working. But frustratingly, it started working again by the time I got back home again.
I'm aware of my training sessions this week, as I'm facing 6.5 hours and a 22 mile training walk in Chichester on Sunday. Well...let's say that I'm hoping to get to 22 miles, as I'll be looking to be completing 26.2 miles within the same time in June. The knee felt good this morning, as did the hip.
I spent much of the run trying to think of what to wear this afternoon - I'm out at an exhibition, but will have to be walking miles to get there as all the car parks will be full.
Have a great Tuesday everyone. 3 more sleeps until Friday
