Day 198 - 07 June 2011

Tuesday
5 miles.  3 miles walking, 2 miles running

5am.  With the Scott Mills podcast in my ears, I got up (even though my pillow was shouting back "stay here! stay here!) and ventured outside in blue skies and sunshine.  Oh, that was SUCH a good decision.

Ian and I headed for beach again and whilst he stayed a while to do press ups, I headed off up towards Boscombe at a fast pace, whilst also air boxing (which must have amused the cyclists........).

The promise of a good sunrise

The problem with doing my walks at this time on the prom is that I don't get to see a soul.  There were a couple of cyclists, but apart from that, I had the whole beach to myself and Scott Mills (I had no idea he was gay until he mentioned in his show about kissing a member of a boy band and after that, I just had to Google).

There was also the Channel Islands ship coming into Poole, which is a lovely sight when the sun is rising, as the whiteness of ship against the blue of the sea just looks amazing.

There's also a landmark over in the Sandbanks/Shell Bay area that I've been trying to identify and just can't...we even drove out there on Saturday to see if we could find it - but I can't work out its location when I'm actually there - I can only see it from the coastline where we are.  But it looks like a clock tower and it stands out really clearly when the sun is shining over towards the west.  I'm meeting Rose (ROSEC2) for lunch today, so hopefully she may know.

My view heading towards Boscombe
I ran all the way back, as I hadn't realised how far I had walked (my fault for watching the ship so intently!), so managed to get back home safely within the hour.

Such a lovely morning...just a shame I have to go to work.
