Day 197 - 06 June 2011

Monday
60 minutes walking

The countdown has begun...there is T-Minus 5 days until the Edinburgh Moonwalk.

Having spent a glorious week of absolutely no exercise at all, apart from slow dog walks in the evening, I feel ready to start back on my Stupid O'Clock walks again.

Throughout the entire 197 days, I don't think I've taken such a long break apart from when I had 'flu over the Christmas holidays.  I needed it and was feeling lethargic and not quite 100% but at the same time, the fact that I wasn't doing any exercise made me feel extremely guilty.  The odd thing was that I was eating 'normally' and had been enjoying a slice of lemon drizzle most evenings yet had managed to lose 2 pounds.  Very odd indeed.

This morning was overcast, but mild.  It had been raining for most of the previous evening and throughout the night, so everywhere was damp.  Along with Ian (who is also doing the Moonwalk), we made our way to the beach and virtually marched up and down, before walking back up to the path.

We were just in time to see Mr Early (I haven't seen him in a long while) AND.....Mr Alsatian who was on his way down to the beach.

The sea was mirror-like and we were watching several kayakers out there (at this time!!) as well as some kayaking fishermen, who were just kitting out their kayaks before heading off.  I could see radio transmitters and echo sounders in there.  I wonder what they were going to be catching?
