Day 219 - 12 July 2011

Tuesday
50 minutes brisk walk with 10 minutes run

After a very warm night where I thought I was going to melt into a puddle, I awoke to high cloud, 14 Deg C and a 6mph N Wind.  Perfect conditions.  But I also realised how much darker it is at 4.45am when the alarm goes off....

With Chris Moyles' pod cast (sorry.....free download as the BBC now term it) in my ears - I was listening to the week that was broadcast whilst we were on holiday.  With Dominic interviewing Cameron Diaz.  If you haven't heard it - go and download it.  You'll be in stitches :-)

I decided to walk the coastal route this morning, as I wanted to get a better sight of a temporary oil rig they've got out in the bay.  It's tiny, but these are exploratory ships that drill down to see if the oil pocket is worth drilling.  I keep hoping it won't be, otherwise our gorgeous view will be spoilt for several years.

Here's a photo of the drill ship - I don't have a decent zoom lens, but you can just make it out on the right of the accompanying accommodation ship.

Mr Early was out cycling his usual route (I wonder if he ever gets fed up of the same route?) and shouted out to me that he loved the calmer mornings.  I nodded in agreement and was keeping an eye on my time, as this particular route isn't a loop, so I had to watch for 30 minutes before turning around and heading back for home.

I caught up with Ian, who had been out on his 5k run this morning and was out again but this time with our dog Foggy, who spotted me walking towards him.  If he could have jumped his lead, he would of raced towards me, bless him.  So the three of us walked an extra 15 minutes together before heading home.

I'm hoping Tuesday treats me better than Monday.  It's nearly the weekend, right?
