60 minutes brisk walk
Having got out of the habit of my early morning walking, I had made the decision over the weekend to reinstate them. Paradoxically, the earlier I get up, the more awake I feel throughout the day. In addition of course, it earns me my daily exercise calories and I feel fitter for it.
Why did I stop? Well, the holiday got in the way of my daily routine - although it did include two spectacularly long walks of over 4 hours each, so I don't feel too bad here. However, last week I allowed laziness to control my week and failed to get up early throughout the working week and to top it all, failed over the weekend too. The lie ins which I thought I so badly needed, just left me feeling even more tired, with a heavy head.
So. I'm back. Mr Early was out there as per usual and I was rather surprised how cold it felt this morning...all the cars had condensation on them and I could see my breath - it felt more like an early autumn morning. I was also taken aback at how much later the sun is rising compared to early June.
By the time I was heading back home, the sun was up, the sky was bright blue and I didn't want the hour to end.
